Scaffold Raises $15 Million to Connect the Systems That Run Residential Construction

Navitas Capital Led the Round, Joined by Strategic Investors from Across the Homebuilding Supply Chain

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Scaffold, a software company that uses AI to coordinate the work of trade contractors in the $500 billion homebuilding industry, announced a $15 million seed round led by Navitas Capital. The platform has been deployed on more than 200,000 homes across 30 states. Investors include homebuilders D.R. Horton and Pulte Homes, Builders FirstSource, Windsor America, Grid Capital, Home Technology Ventures, Stage2 Capital, and housing analyst Ivy Zelman. The investor group spans homebuilders, trade contractors, and suppliers, reflecting the industry-wide nature of the opportunity Scaffold addresses.

A trade contractor's morning starts in a dozen or more homebuilder systems. Purchase orders, reschedules, and scope changes are all manually entered many times over, due to the frequency of changes that naturally occur during the construction process. A schedule changes on Tuesday, and the crew learns about it on Thursday. Keeping track of jobs becomes a job in itself because those systems do not speak a common language. On a single home, hundreds of tasks are edited dozens of times, and nearly every edit is carried by hand from one system to the next.

Scaffold automates that coordination, letting humans focus their time in areas where their judgment is required. Rather than introducing another new system, it connects to the portals and platforms the industry already uses, including the portals of 29 of the top 30 U.S. homebuilders, keeps one current record of every job, and automates the routine steps that used to require someone at a keyboard. Nobody has to switch software, retrain a crew, or migrate a system. The record serves the whole job: contractors work from it, suppliers see real demand, and homebuilders get a view of the field they would not otherwise have.

Scaffold starts working the day it goes live, providing value in as quickly as an hour or two, and its models get sharper with live usage as it learns the nuances of how each individual trade operates. Purchase orders populate automatically, schedules stay current across every homebuilder a contractor works with so last-minute changes no longer lead to no-shows, and crews stop rolling to houses that aren't ready. Contractors on the platform report roughly 50% fewer dry runs and an 89% reduction in errors within their first 60 days, along with an 83% reduction in the time required to process a purchase order.

“The industry does not need another application. It needs the ones it already runs to stop disagreeing with each other. Every hour spent reconciling them by hand adds nothing to a house, and the trades face the brunt of that cost, which is why we’ve built Scaffold,” said Ben Johnson, Co-Founder and CEO of Scaffold.

“It’s not just about agreeing to a common format. The same field can mean different things from one homebuilder to the next, or even across regions within a builder,” said Robert Eanes, Co-Founder and CTO of Scaffold. “Developing that translation layer so that they all agree, continuously, across hundreds of thousands of homes, is the actual engineering problem.”

The round drew investors from every layer of the homebuilding supply chain Scaffold connects: homebuilders, trade contractors, and suppliers. Johnson co-founded Scaffold in 2024 after building Spruce, the largest provider of home services to the multifamily industry, which he grew to serve 24 of the 25 largest apartment companies in the United States and more than one million apartment units under his leadership from 2015 to 2024. Eanes was previously co-founder of Pingboard.

With the seed funding, Scaffold will expand its engineering team and broaden the platform's coverage across homebuilder, contractor, and supplier systems. More about Scaffold can be found at getscaffold.com.

WORDS FROM SCAFFOLD’S INVESTORS AND ADVISORS

The largest and most sophisticated homebuilders invest with us specifically to find companies like Scaffold: a world-class AI team, led by a proven founder, going after an industry's biggest pain points. Today, homebuilding runs on siloed systems that can't agree, and Scaffold's AI turns them into the real-time ground truth the whole value chain will build on.
- Louis Schotsky, Managing Partner at Navitas Capital [Lead Investor]

Builders are looking for cost reduction anywhere they can find it, and land and regulatory costs leave almost no room. Construction efficiency is one of the few places where savings remain. That is where Scaffold operates, and the reason more has not come out of it before now is that no one could measure it.
- Ivy Zelman, EVP and Co-Founder, Zelman & Associates [Investor]

Our trade partners brought Scaffold to us before we ever evaluated it. At our volume, small amounts of friction between our systems and our trade partners' systems compound into real cost. That friction is industry-wide, and no single builder fixes it alone. We invested in Scaffold because infrastructure like this only works if it works for everyone.
- Paul Romanowski, President and CEO at D.R. Horton [Investor]

A purchase order can leave our building correct and reach the jobsite three versions behind, and everyone downstream pays for the difference. We put Scaffold to work in our own operation, and the noise dropped off. Orders line up, crews quit driving to houses that aren't ready, and my people spend far less time fixing paperwork by hand. I put money in because a tool that helps my customers as much as it helps me is worth owning a piece of.
- Hans Wright, CEO of Windsor America [Scaffold Customer and Investor]

As we continue to innovate to help our customers build quality homes more efficiently, providing connected information all the way through the homebuilding labor and supply chain is key. Scaffold helps close a critical gap in that chain.
- Peter Jackson, CEO of Builders FirstSource [Investor]

“Pulte strives to be the builder of choice for our trades, and our investment in Scaffold reflects our commitment to that goal. We see Scaffold as an innovative AI platform aimed at the fundamental logistics of building homes at scale: coordination between builders and their trades. As shared infrastructure supporting both sides, it has the potential to improve overall cycle times."
-David Beznos SVP Growth and Strategic Partnerships at PulteGroup [Investor]
